Gunmen Storm PDP Chairman’s Home, Kill 2 in Adamawa

Gunmen yesterday invaded the residence of chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Mubi, Adamawa State, killing two and injuring four others, police said yesterday. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The state’s Police Commissioner, Mr Amos Adamu Idako, confirmed the incident to Greenwich news. He said the two men were gunned down at the home of the PDP chairman of Mubi North, Alh.Sahabo Jauro, but that he escaped unhurt.
It was gathered that those who were killed were neighbours of the politician, while those who were injured were passersby. The police commissioner said investigation is on to fish out the perpetrators.
“Our men are on the top of the situation. The motive of the killers is still unknown,’’ he said.
According to a resident, Danjuma Mallum, the masked gunmen entered the house of the PDP chairman, firing sporadically.
Jauro expressed surprise over the attack on his residence, saying he had no problem with anyone. He urged perpetrators of violence to embrace dialogue. A few weeks ago, two men were gunned down at the home of another popular politician in the town, Alhaji Abdurahman Kwacham.
