Mr. Ibu: “Homosexuals Want To Sleep With Me”

Famous comic actor, John Okafor, otherwise known as Mr. Ibu, has lamented that the Nigerian motion picture industry – globally known as Nollywood  – is currently being ravaged by a virus called homosexuality. In this interview, the thespian  discloses that some guys had been after him, trying to harass him sexually.

He says: “One idiot came toasting me o! That is true, as funny as it would sound.

“Something is happening in this Nollywood. These upcoming actors are being used by some of the established producers who are gays. If you want to get a job as an up and coming actor, you must sleep with them. You must be sexed to get a job.

“We are no longer in the era of the female actresses suffering from sexual harassment; it is now man to man. Abomination! God has a lot of things to judge.

“Man to woman is also bad, but we can easily overlook that. Why not put your penis in the right place. There is something spiritual in that thing (frowns). Why would you bend down for one idiot to penetrate you, thereby destroying your future? You left God and bowed to devil… by the time you get up, you get up as a woman, while the idiot that penetrated you walks away majestically! Their payback is sudden death, and it keeps happening.”

This is not the first time the actor would talk about his experience with gays in the make-believe industry.

In a recent interview in Houston, Texas, US, Mr. Ibu also voiced his conviction about the virus eating deep into the industry:

“I am sorry if my friends are involved. It is a virus and it is killing our industry. If there is any way in this world that people can make them stop it or kill it, please do it. God will punish you, because God did not advise you to do it. God designed woman and dashed us for free,” he stated.

Gunmen numbering about 20 on Tuesday attacked the Kaboro community in the Dansadau Emirate of Zamfara, killing 18 people, including the village head.
A survivor, Sani Abdullahi, who narrated his ordeal to newsmen in Gusau, said the bandits, swooped on the village at about 4 a.m. and began shooting sporadically.
“It was when the shooting started that the village head, identified as Alhaji Maiyara, came out to plead with the gunmen to stop the heinous crime. But they got at him and killed him.
“He was killed instantly when they felt that he was disturbing them with his endless begging after he was warned to shut up and keep off.
“They fired from different angles of the village and killed whoever attempted to escape, after killing our village head,” he said.
Haruna Kabir, another survivor who spoke to the newsmen, said he heard gunshots from far away and sensed that a disaster was befalling the community.
He said he escaped from the village through a bush path, adding that he would not return to the village in a hurry.
The bandits were believed by the villagers to be responsible for the killing of 22 people at Dogon Dawa village in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna State about a fortnight ago.

How I survived the Fuel Subsidy Crisis - Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan has declared that the popular and democratic electoral mandate given him by Nigerians saved his job during the subsidy removal protests in the country early this year.

The President was speaking in Freetown, Sierra Leone when he met with chairman of the country's National Electoral Commission (NEC), Madam Christina Thorpe, as well as chairmen and some presidential candidates of political parties contesting in the Sierra Leone's general elections coming up on November 17 this year.

Jonathan spoke in line with his admonition to the political class, to jointly ensure free and fair polls as such this guarantee their popularity with the electorate and the ability to gain the people's confidence when taking take strong decisions in tumultuous times.

According to the President, the crises that engulfed Nigeria when he attempted to remove petroleum subsidy last January would have seen him removed from office if not that the majority of citizens who voted for him refused to be coerced or deceived into demanding for a regime change instead of reversal of the policy.

"In Nigeria, I remember the fuel subsidy crisis all over the country, I could have been removed but I was confident of my mandate. When some people started talking of regime change, majority of the people who voted for me insisted that they elected me and what they are asking for is change of policy, not regime change; and that calmed down the situation.

"Credible elections give you the mandate of the people and confidence too. It is difficult to calm people down when elections are manipulated", he said.

Lecturing his audience on the need for credible polls, President Jonathan enthused that he would not be in Sierra Leone to preach free and fair polls if he had not successfully done same in Nigeria. According to him "If we had manipulated elections in Nigeria, I would not have had the courage to come and confront you. If I had manipulated myself into office, there is no way I would come and sell to you what I do not have".

He tasked Sierra Leone's ruling party, the All Peoples Congress (APC) to ensure a level playing field that will bring about acceptable elections as the party stands to reap immensely in terms of credibility from such action. Ruling simply by might is primitive and does not ensure stable polity, stressed Jonathan who pledged more of Nigeria's assistance towards successful elections in Sierra Leone.

Nigeria had earlier donated 25 operational vehicles and $1 million to Sierra Leone, and trained some of their electoral officials in Nigeria towards the conduct of the polls. Many of the political parties' chieftains requested for more assistance from Nigeria, including providing subventions to the parties to enable them withstand the financial might of the bigger parties.

Jonathan was also formally bestowed with that country's highest national honour of Grand Commander of the Republic of Sierra Leone (GCRSL) awarded to him during Sierra Leone's 51st Independence Anniversary in April. He thanked the people of Sierra Leone for the honour and assured that Nigeria would continue to give as much assistance it could to them as the relationship between both countries grow stronger. The award, according to President Bai Koroma, was given to Jonathan in recognition of his and Nigeria's invaluable support for and timely intervention during difficult times in Sierra Leone.

"We as a nation are very grateful. This is the crowning of our bilateral relations and your personal assistance to Sierra Leone", Koroma said.

President Jonathan Condemns Kaduna Catholic Church Bomb Attack

President of Nigeria Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has condemned Sunday’s suicide bomb attack on a Kaduna  Catholic Church.

The President who was extremely saddened by the explosion, described it as “barbaric, cruel and uncalled for.”

According to President Jonathan, the apparent objective of the criminal and unpatriotic elements and forces behind the attack is to set back the progress the Administration has made in the fight against terrorism in the country and throw the country into chaos.

“It is obvious that these people do not mean well for Nigeria and its unity and development,” he said.

The President however, assured Nigerians that his administration’s war against terrorism would become more unrelenting as the nation would never give in to the forces of terror and retardation.

“Our efforts to deal with all acts of terror and violence would only be redoubled even as the security agencies continue to receive all the support they need from government to reverse this unfortunate and unacceptable trend that threatens the peace and stability of our nation,” President Jonathan said.

The President while commiserating with the Catholic Church, family and friends of the victims of the bombing, assured them that government’s resolve to deal with the threat of terrorism remains strong and unbridled.
