Passenger Arrested By Security Officials For Trying to Steal $6,000 from Plane


THE Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, officials, yesterday, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, arrested a passenger (names withheld) on Arik Air flight W3 071 that was leaving for Accra, Ghana, for stealing $6,000 (N960,000) from the bag of another passenger.
The passenger was caught by an eagle-eyed cabin crew when he was stealing the money from a bag in the overhead baggage hold and subsequently raised an alarm which led to the arrest of the passenger by FAAN security officials.
Greenwich News gathered that the suspect was later handed over to the police and transferred to Beesam Police Station.
When newsmen visited the  police station, a police officer said the case was not brought there.
Also, at the Police office at the airport, another police official who claimed anonymity denied being informed of the incident.
