Fuel Subsidy Scam: Farouk Lawan Returns to The Country, Reports to Police



The former chairman of the fuel subsidy probe panel of the House of Representatives who traveled to  Saudi Arabia for Umrah, returned on Monday, and made himself available to the police in order to continue with the investigation in the $620,000.

Mr Lawan, who was accused of collecting the bribe sum of $620,000 from the Chairman of Zenon oil and Gas, Femi Otedola was granted permission to travel for his religious obligation and was asked to return to the country at a given time.

It will be recalled that the police investigation has since two weeks completed its investigation on the  matter, and forwarded their recommendation to the Attorney General of the Federation for advice.

However, the AGF is yet to respond to the recommendations seeking his advice.

Police sources revealed that Mr Lawan signed the police register indicating that he had returned in accordance with the terms of his bail.
