Two persons were killed, while two
others were injured in an armed robbery attack in Wagigini and Daurawa
villages of Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State. Those
killed, Greenwich news gathered, were identified as Iliya Dan’inna Wagini
and Bala Barau Danbadau. It was also gathered that one of the injured
persons was referred to the Katsina General Hospital, while the other
person was treated and discharged. The robbers were said to have stormed
the residence of one Alhaji Mannir Barau inWagigini, and shot him on
the leg before robbing their victims of valuables. It was further
gathered that the robbers later moved to Daura village where they killed
one person and robbed several others of their belongings. When
contacted, the police deputy Public Relations Officer, ASP Shehu Koko
Muhammad, confirmed the incident, saying investigation into the matter
is still on-going.
