Nustafa said that men of the Nigerian Navy and officials of  NEMA, SEMA and the state Ministry of Environment were also involved in the operation, adding that many of the victims were said to be in life threatening situations.

He said that the people should be blamed for their present predicament, adding that they failed to heed several warnings to quit their houses to avoid being trapped.

The chairman said that he did not have the figure of exact number of people trapped and that no report of casualties  been received as at the time of this report. He only described the situation in Ibaji as “very terrible”.

Meanwhile, the traffic gridlock on Lokoja-Abuja road has become more chaotic with vehicles forming long queues on both sides of the road.

The queue at the Lokoja end of the road has extended to Obajana village, about 15 kms drive to the Lokoja city centre.

Mr Isaac Martins, the Head of operations of the State Sector Command of the FRSC, who confirmed this , said that there was not much the commission could do to help the situation.

He said the problem was particularly with the small cars, adding that it takes officials and youths assisting them an average of 20 minutes to help a car out of the water.

“ Vehicles are moving but they are moving slowly, that is just the situation at hand now, Martins said.

He appealed to motorists to make use of alternative roads pending the time the flood would be over.

Pictures and Stories Of the World's Longest Snake Kept In a Haunted House

Statistics says the snake weighs more than 300lbs, is 25ft long and needs at least 15 people to hold her.
This gigantic monster called Medusa has found its way into the Guinness World record books as the world’s largest snake living in captivity.
The massive python, lives in the Edge of Hell haunted house attraction in Kansas City, eats a 40lb animal about once a week but could easily eat something weighing more than 100lbs.

Medusa’s primary diet consists of a combination of rabbits, hogs and deer, served to her every two weeks.

Staff knows her as the sloppiest eater within attraction, as she’s been known to accidentally bite into herself instead of her dinner.

Representatives from the Guinness Book of World Records have verified her new title and she will now join the book for 2013.

Medusa is owned by Full Moon Productions, a haunted house attraction in Kansas City, Missouri
Medusa measures a staggering 25ft 2 in long

Medusa’s trainer Larry Elgar claims he isn’t intimidated by the monster python.
He said: ‘They’ve actually cut people out of them, they are man eaters.

‘Fear is just a lack of understanding. I have no fear. I understand that she can kill me. I’ve been wrapped up and put unconscious by a reticulated python that was only 18 feet long.
To keep Medusa fed, she is given a combination of rabbits, hogs and deer every two weeks

‘I understand the repercussions, but that’s no reason to fear. That car you drove in has killed more people than anything else in the world.

But you’re not scared when you put your keys in it, are you?’

Mr Edgar said he bought the eight-year-old snake as a baby and she’s still growing.
He said then ‘ his snake was 24 inches long, as big as my finger.’

Medusa was brought to the haunted house as a 24 inches long baby

The massive python scooped the record from 24ft long Fluffy
Medusa has bumped Fluffy, a reticulated python, off the top spot.
At 24ft long she held the record for longest snake living in captivity until she died at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Powell, Ohio, in October 2010.
She was 18 years old and still 24 ft long and died of an apparent tumor.
