FG postposes Bidding For PHCN Distribution Companies

The Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) has postponed the bidding date for the Power Holding Company of Nigeria’s distribution companies by six days.
The privatization agency in a statement by its spokesman Chukwumah Nwokoh said the postponement was necessary in order to give bidders the required 15 working days to procure and submit their post-qualification security in accordance with the provisions of the Request for Proposals (RFP).

It said a new date of Tuesday, October 16 has been fixed for the opening of the financial bids of investors for the distribution companies whose technical proposals met the benchmark.  The previous date for the event was October 10.

The shift in date is made necessary by the time lost from the postponement of the last meeting of the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) from September 13, to September 18.

The BPE states that all other dates in the timeline for the privatisation of the successor companies remain unchanged.
