Two Mobile Policemen were yesterday arrested by JTF for allegedly raping a pregnant ward head wife in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.Greenwich news gathered that the woman was on her way to her matrimonial home at Ajari area when the alleged rapists intercepted her and forcefully had sex with her.
“They threatened her life and had sex with her, when she broke the sad news to us we reported the matter to the JTF, and they arrested them for investigation,” a source revealed.
He added that “Women complain of harassment by the police around where she was raped (Tashar Kurma); that is why we reported the matter to the JTF for quick action and justice.”
Yobe State Police Commissioner, Patrick Egbuniwe confirmed the incidence saying that “affected policemen have been arrested and investigation is on to determine the authenticity of the matter.”
