Robbers Raid Nkem Owoh's House in Enugu

Armed robbers on Wednesday night raided the home of Nollywood star, Nkem Owoh, at Phase 6 Trans-Ekulu Layout Enugu.

The robbers carted away properties worth millions of naira from his home, including his newly acquired black coloured Mitsubishi Montero Jeep with number plate BU 64 FST worth about N8 million, alongside other valuables.

Owoh, popularly known as Osuofia, was not at home when the robbers broke into his house, a duplex, as he was said to be in Lagos where he was shooting a movie.

When journalists visited his home on Thursday, the place looked deserted and there was nobody around to speak on the matter.

However, when reached on phone, Owoh confirmed the incident, saying he lost his laptop, video camera and Jeep to the hoodlums.

Owoh described the incident as “very unfortunate”, adding that he had reported the matter to the Enugu State Police Command for necessary action.

When contacted on telephone, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Enugu State Command, Ebere Amaraizu, confirmed that hoodlums broke into Owoh’s home.

He however said it was not a case of armed robbery, but car theft and burglary.

“Yes, the man was away from his home and some people who knew that he was not at home took advantage of his absence and broke into his house.

“The hoodlums made away with his Jeep. But, it is not a case of armed robbery or armed banditry as you are portraying it”, Amaraizu said.
